It's easy to get stains on your clothes from outdoor activities, sporting events, and barbecues. Stains like mustard, ketchup, and grass can be difficult to get out of a white shirt or dress. It may appear that your clothes are permanently ruined, but don't worry, we have laundry tips that will restore their luster!
Here are four spring laundry and garment care tips to keep in mind, if you've had a little too much fun in the sun this spring.
White Garment Stains
A crisp white shirt in the springtime is something that everyone enjoys. Using a mixture of lemon juice and salt, you can remove stains from white clothing. Directly on the stain, squeeze lemon juice into it, and sprinkle salt on top of that. Gently rub the mixture into the stain until it is completely gone, then rinse thoroughly with water. If necessary, put your shirt in the washer or get it dry cleaned asap!
Grass Stains
Grass stains on your spring clothes? Is there anything worse than green paint stains? Soak whites and colors in cold water with detergent, then wash in the washer until the stain is gone. If the stain persists, do not dry, get it dry cleaned!
Burger Stains
Grilling season is here, but watch out for those cheeseburgers! Rub alcohol on the spot to break down the oils. Add vinegar to help break down plant-based elements. Apply a small amount of detergent and wash as usual. If the fabric is delicate or brightly colored, dry clean it asap!
Household Items
Spring season means It's time to get your home in order! Sanitize rooms, all surfaces, and appliances, using common household items such as vinegar and baking soda. Follow the care instructions on the laundry tags on all of your linens, rugs, curtains, and other household items.
