Entrepreneurial Advice - Hearing “No” is incredibly powerful.

When I decided to pursue entrepreneurship, I had no idea of the adventure that lay ahead. All I had was energy and desire to backup my concept. In my head, it made perfect sense. I thought to myself, “Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this amazing business?!”

I hit the ground running. Frantically researching and calling cleaners and laundromats like a madwoman. I got a lot of “no’s”.

To be honest, hearing “no” is probably one of the most common things you’ll hear as an entrepreneur.

“No, we will not invest in your company”

“No, we will not loan you the money”

“No, we will not partner with you”

“No, we don’t think your business model will succeed”

The list goes on...

But here is a secret for you - hearing no is incredibly powerful.

It forced me to develop a different set of survival skills that sharpened me and made me perform better.

It taught me to know the difference between which leads are promising, and which are a waste of time.

It taught me to know the difference between which ideas are worth pursuing, and which are a waste of time.

But most importantly, it has helped develop another part of my brain that is keenly aware and attuned to who might be interested in listening to me.

We live in a world where the odds are stacked against aspiring business owners. Most new businesses will fail within the first 5 years.

Knowing those differences, makes all the difference.

You will be tested. But hold on to your vision.

Do the work.

There is no right or wrong path for an entrepreneur.  This journey is entirely and completely your own.

So be unapologetically yourself. Be relentless in the pursuit of your dreams and confident in your ability to do so.
