It’s Friday evening, you’re grabbing drinks with girlfriends after a long work week. You decide to have a glass or...three of Malbec and start chatting it up with your gals. Around the second or third drink, you suddenly realize you've spilled on your $600 Fleur du Mal slip dress. Perhaps you were overly enthusiastic in your swirling or simply gesticulated too much at the bar...yikes...however, whatever caused it, you realize you must remove the stain as soon as possible, but how???

White Wine
Ask for the Pinot Grigio! The backward approach, dab on some white wine! As strange as it may sound, a splash of white wine over an existing red wine stain might reduce the concentration in the same way that adding cool water would. After pouring the white wine, dab the area with a clean cloth to absorb the liquid. This should get rid of the majority of the stain.
Salt
In plain sight at every restaurant! To dilute the red wine's potency, pour a large amount of cool, clean water over the affected area. Grab the salt shaker next. Twist off the cap and pour a tiny amount over the stain while it's still wet.
Club Soda
At every bar! Pour club soda on the stain after blotting as much of the wine as possible, and let it fizz and soak for at least 10 minutes. Carbonation will aid in the dissolution of the red pigments. After that, absorb the liquid with a sponge, towel, or other clean fabric. Soak once more and repeat as needed.
